In episode six of the Handmade CEO podcast, I interviewed Cameron from White Daisy Jewelry. When I first met Cameron, she was in grade school with my son Ethan…this feels like ages ago and just like yesterday all wrapped up into one! I was both surprised and happy to see a post, all of these years later, from her mom Loran on Facebook. Loran had invited friends to visit Cameron at the local farmer’s market to see her lovely jewelry. It was a pleasant surprise to see that A. she was no longer that little girl that I once knew when she lived here and B. that she was all grown up and confidently selling her creations at a farmer’s market.

I love talking with young entrepreneurs because they tend to have an innate ability to shrug off any stumble, they’re scrappy, resourceful and don’t fret over mistakes because they know that they have time on their side.

Cameron has been running her business for nearly two years and attributes her ability to juggle school, sports, and her company to good time management and the support that she receives from her mom. Without business classes under her belt, she’s been able to teach herself the ins and outs of starting and running a small business.

From setting up at her first farmer’s market to learning how to create her online shop, I’m sure you’ll find encouragement in Cameron’s journey and ability to face a challenge head-on.

If it’s true that fear will establish the limits of your life, I pray you’ll find the courage to face fear in a way that opens doors to a new adventure!
